Scout Bucks

Scout Bucks is a third-year PhD candidate in Nuclear Engineering. He specializes in thermal-hydraulics (the study of heat and mass transfer in nuclear reactor systems). His research focuses on experimental characterization of sodium heat pipes – two-phase heat transfer devices that will be used in some advanced reactor designs. Scout graduated from Penn State with dual Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering degrees. During undergraduate, Scout was a Schreyer honor scholar and licensed operator at the Penn State Breazeale reactor. His tutoring specialties include calculus, engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
Random Fact: His favorite food is pot roast.
