Penn State Alumna Maddy Pryor Joins Tierney Education Team

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Tierney Education, a leading academic coaching and tutoring company serving Penn State students and families, proudly announces that Maddy Pryor is joining the team as Public Relations Manager in a part-time capacity.

A 2013 Penn State graduate of the Bellisario College of Communications and a 2015 master’s degree recipient of Kent State’s School of Media and Journalism, Maddy brings over a decade of experience in social media content creation as well as public relations management skills, including a wealth of involvement in the State College area.

After career stops at Penn State’s Strategic Communications office and the American Cancer Society based in State College, Maddy has worked at Princeton University in the Office of Communications since 2017 as a campus social media strategist. She resides in Sayreville, New Jersey

“I’m so excited to be joining Tierney Education this fall to help them continue their exponential development throughout Happy Valley in order to serve and support even more students at Penn State and beyond.”

“Maddy will be doing far more than managing our social media presence. She will play a key role in expanding our understanding of Penn State—past, present, and future—so we can better connect with and support the students and families we serve,” said James Tierney, Founder and CEO of Tierney Education.

Outside of her professional career, Maddy volunteers with the Penn State Alumni Association as a member of the Alumni Council Executive Board, as President of the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group, and as President of the Bellisario Alumni Society Board. She also has freelance clients in the area, including Happy Valley Improv and the Penn State Hoops Club.

“My hope is that I can be a resource for students looking to get involved, make their mark, and, most importantly, earn their degree from Dear Old State.”
