Office Manager

Tierney Education in State College, PA, is hiring an Office Manager. This role focuses on managing the operational aspects of our tutoring center, including administrative tasks and overseeing the center's performance. The Office Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of our new tutoring center, set to open in downtown State College in June 2024. This position is essential for maintaining the quality of our tutoring services and supporting our mission to enhance education in the area. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and ready to handle day-to-day operations as well as contribute to the center's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Ensure the efficient running of our tutoring center on a daily basis, focusing on providing a high-quality educational experience for our students.

  • Communication & Outreach: Act as the main point of contact for both parents and students, addressing their questions and concerns. Lead our marketing efforts to promote our tutoring services, utilizing digital marketing and community outreach to increase visibility.

  • Administrative Tasks: Handle the day-to-day administrative responsibilities, including the organization of student files and the management of our CRM system (HubSpot), to ensure operational efficiency. Manage supplies and scheduling to keep the center well-organized.

  • Team Leadership: Guide and support our team of tutors and administrative personnel, aligning their efforts with our educational goals and encouraging ongoing professional development.

  • Strategic Development: Implement strategic plans to improve our tutoring services and operational processes, making use of technology and new methods to achieve these objectives.

Position Details:

  • Location: Hybrid - State College, PA (in office at least 2 days a week)

  • Start Date: May 1st, 2024

  • Schedule: Part-Time (15 - 30 hours per week). Flexible, with a commitment to meet operational needs, including some weekend and evening hours as required.

  • Compensation: $20 - $35 per hour based on experience.

Essential Qualifications

  • Management Proficiency: At least 2 years of administrative experience with a proven ability to lead initiatives and teams effectively. Must be adept at setting clear goals and fostering a collaborative achievement culture.

  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships and engage effectively with a broad range of individuals.

  • Strategic Insight: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

  • Technological Aptitude: Proficiency in modern technology to streamline organizational processes.

Preferred Qualifications Skills:

  • Experience in Higher Education: Previous involvement in higher education settings, particularly familiarity with academic standards and administrative processes, is highly desirable.

  • Local Knowledge: Knowledge of Penn State and the State College Area School District is a plus, indicating a deeper understanding of our community's educational landscape.
